Medium: Painted canvas, and leather Balance Bags 4.0

“Peopling” represents the new understood identity of COVALENCE as, “Tools for Peopling.” The piece features a pair of balance bags adorned with a series of interconnected faces, each sharing noses, chins, and eyes in an asymmetrical tessellation. This pattern creates a visual dialogue about connection, unity, and the shared human experience.

Backstory: The artwork was born when Meagh assisted her sibling move into COVALENCE's new production space. Amidst the transition, they explored Meaghan’s sketchbook filled with these unique facial designs. These Balance Bags express her creative spirit and relationships Meagh has as a mentor and humanitarian, in compelling illustrations. 

Message: By bringing these shared faces to life on canvas, the artists invite viewers to contemplate the ways in which our lives and identities overlap. The balance bags symbolize stability and support, echoing the foundational role that relationships play in our personal journeys.
